Our school year runs from September through May with an Orientation and "Get Acquainted Picnic" held a week before the students first day of class. This gives the children a chance to get a feel for school and also an opportunity to meet some of their new friends and classmates. Your child's first day of school should be a rewarding experience that continues for the remainder of the year. We suggest that you develop a drop off routine that is quick, lets your son/daughter know that you love them and that you will return to pick them up at dismissal. The staff's goal is for your child to enjoy attending school while feeling safe and secure.
Our morning session runs from 9:00 - 11:30 and afternoon session from 12:00-2:30.
The curriculum of each class is designed for the needs of the appropriate age group. The teachers offer hands on learning along with how important it is to follow a routine, sit in a classroom and be able to take direction. We encourage the children to get along with others and be well-rounded individuals.
The children get a chance to perform for their families at our Winter Program in February as well as a Closing Program at the end of the school year. Students of TLC benefit from a variety of visitors to the school such as a dental hygienist, the S.P.C.A., The Association for the Blind, numerous guest readers and a professional photographer. They also have an opportunity to venture outside the classroom to attend two field trips during the year. For Community Outreach Projects, the children participate in raising money for a local charity, making crafts for people receiving Meals on Wheels, decorate placemats for residents of a nearby nursing home and donate non-perishable food items to the Back Mountain Food Pantry. We feel very strongly about teaching young children the importance of helping others.
The staff at TLC is our greatest asset and each member knows that our school stands behind our statement that we are "Building Tomorrow's Future Today". Our teachers are aware when adjustments need to be made so that the children's learning experience is always fun as well as productive. They provide the children with much "TLC" and help them to be individuals while focusing on learning in a very warm, caring and positive environment.
Trinity Learning Center consists of five air conditioned classrooms, a backroom play area and an outside fenced in playground with a picnic pavillion. We welcome visitors to TLC so that parents may explore this growth opportunity for their children.
